At Bearden-Josey Center for Breast Health, we use the most advanced technology available to provide screening mammograms and aid in the detection and diagnosis of breast cancer. Join our team and become a part of supporting breast health in our Upstate communities. We are a comprehensive breast imaging center providing services across nine fixed locations and two Mobile Mammography Units. The expert and caring staff at Bearden-Josey Center for Breast Health are fellowship-trained, board-certified specialists who focus on breast health. We conduct hundreds of mammograms each week and diagnose and treat more than four hundred patients each year. Under the supervision of a Radiologist, you will utilize specialized knowledge and skills to produce high-quality sonographic images along with invasive breast procedures to aid in diagnoses. As an imaging professional, you'll be aligned with the latest technology, evidence-based medicine, and clinical research. For technologists with no prior breast imaging experience, we offer a 12-week training program that will equip you with the knowledge and tools needed to provide high-quality breast care. For experienced technologists we provide an abbreviated training program that includes a comprehensive review of our protocols, machines, and IT platforms. Whether you are experienced in breast imaging or looking to enter into a new chapter, we believe in setting all members of our team up for success! We look forward to reviewing your application! Responsible for performing Breast Ultrasound examinations for Bearden-Josey Center for Breast Health Spartanburg and Pelham locations. Assisting Radiologist in biopsies, localizations, aspirations, and performing clerical duties such as confirming/updating clinical/medical information in EPIC, maintenance of equipment and maintaining ACR accreditation. Minimum Requirements Associate Degree in Health Science 5 years of Sonography experience Registered RDMS in Physics and Breast or registry eligible (Breast registry to be obtained within 1 year of hire) BLS Certification Core Job Responsibilities Performing Breast ultrasound exams, as well as interventional procedures such as US guided Core Biopsies, wireless/wire LOCs, and Aspirations. Presenting images and preliminary findings to Radiologist and health care team. Maintaining patient records and adding medical notes related to the US procedure. Work closely with Mammography technologists and Radiologists to ensure the capture of appropriate information and prior imaging. Review of all prior images and reports prior to performing an exam. Proficient utilization of PACS, Epic, and any systems related to imaging. Obtaining relevant patient history and explaining procedures. Maintain US equipment and sterilize procedure rooms. Communicating results to patients when requested by physicians. Maintaining open communication with scheduling and registration as it relates to physician orders. Maintaining open communication with Breast Imaging Navigators as it relates to patient appointments and additional needs. Must be knowledgeable of breast health best practices and screening guidelines. Must be able to perform general equipment assessment and report any issues to Quality Specialist Must exhibit initiative and independence. Must demonstrate discretion in handling confidential information and work professionally with patients, families, physicians, other departments; and occasionally with manufacturer's technical representatives during equipment surveys. Must exhibit excellent communication skills (written and oral). Must be highly organized and detail oriented. Must withstand physical activities such as lifting, pulling, pushing, and transporting of patients. Must be able to stand and work up to 8 hours per day.
