The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs health care services utilizing radiopharmaceuticals to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of disease states. Performs nuclear medicine procedures and uses related techniques, producing images for interpretation by the Radiologist. Performs required equipment quality control procedures and reports deficiencies to supervisor. Duties include preparing room, equipment, radiopharmaceuticals and materials as needed for procedures, maintaining clean and stocked procedure room on a daily basis, properly calibrating equipment daily, notifying appropriate person if equipment is not functioning properly, preparing patient for procedure, sending images to PACS appropriately, performing general clerical, file room, darkroom, and transportation duties when needed to fulfill the workload of the department, and practicing patient care according to ARMC policy. The technologist must know and implement radiation safety procedures when working with radiation producing equipment 100% of the time, responsible for knowing and maintaining the measurements described in the Universal Protocol policy, ensuring that patient charges are given to the appropriate person to be entered into the EHR in a timely manner and that the charges are accurate, administering radiopharmaceuticals to patient as directed by Radiologist, and adjusting dose for patient age and weight as appropriate. They must also obtain and correctly document verbal and telephone orders per facility policy, rotate to other imaging departments as needed, participate in holiday and on-call rotation requirements, and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Requirements

Education: Associate degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology from CAAHEP approved school. Experience: One-year experience preferred. License or Registration Requirements: Current ARRT(N) or NMTCB and current South Carolina license issued by SC Radiation Quality Standards Association.
