As a Java Software Engineer, you will: analyze user requirements, debug existing software, provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards, design and code new software, integrate existing software into new or modified systems, develop simple data queries, write or review software and system documentation, serve as team lead, design or implement complex database or data repository interfaces, develop or implement algorithms, assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components, develop software solutions, modify existing software, design, develop, and modify software systems, design or implement complex algorithms, perform quality control, implement recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards, oversee software development teams, confer with system engineers and hardware engineers, coordinate software system installation, recommend new technologies and processes, serve as the technical lead of multiple software development teams, and select the software development process in coordination with the customer and system engineering. Basic qualifications include: current DoD Top Secret SCI with Polygraph, minimum fifteen (15) years of experience as a Software Engineer (SWE), a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university or four (4) years of additional software engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree, very experienced Java developer, experienced with Docker, comfortable with both Windows and Linux, familiarity with Elasticsearch/Kibana (ELK Stack), Niagara Files familiarity, RabbitMQ familiarity, some web interface experience, preferably React JavaScript framework. Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits. The schedule for this position is 9x80 every other Friday off. The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $164,300 - $289,800. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
