Food Runner Job Summary:
A food runner delivers food orders from the kitchen to customers' tables rapidly and accurately. They act as the point of contact between Front of the House and Back of the House staff within the restaurant by communicating food orders to chefs and paying attention to priorities (e.g., food allergies). A food runner always provides exemplary customer service in cooperation with the entire team.
**This is a year- round part-time position**
Must be able to work a minimum of 3 shifts per week to include at least one weekend shift.
Shifts are
Weekday's and Saturday's 4:00PM - 9:00PM
Sundays: 10:00AM - 3:00PM or 3:00PM - 8:00PM
Food Runner Functions:
Attends and Participates in all training sessions and team meetings Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others while listening and responding in an appropriate manner. Greet guests with a warm smile to make them feel welcome Deliver food orders to customers quickly and accurately Uphold sanitation and food safety principles Bus tables by removing dirty dishes and trash Check in with customers to ensure their experience is satisfactory Relay reports of customer satisfaction to the management and relevant parties Ensure patrons have all the appropriate tableware they need to properly enjoy their food Assist setting up tables before service with appropriate utensils, napkins and decorations Cater to the guests' requests and needs in a prompt and professional manner to ensure an overall superior level of customer service Performs all assigned side work and keeps host stand and lobby area clean Follow instructions and adhere to all procedures and company policies while maintaining a high standard of conduct Notifies and reports any problems or concerns to management Reports to the Restaurant Manager Requirements
Must be a minimum of 16 years old. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States Possess a basic knowledge of excellent service standards, guest relations, food and beverage preparations as well as etiquette. Available to work weekends, day and evening shifts and major holidays (Thanksgiving, Easter, & Mother's Day) Mandatory compliance with all safety regulations, procedures, policies, and rules Regular and predictable attendance. Always arrives punctually in full uniform with a neat & professional appearance. Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, carrying, bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
