to join our Community Development Team. This position assists the Community Development Budget Manager with budget preparation, monitoring expenditures against the budget, and processing related paperwork and generating reports. The responsibilities of this position may include assisting with compiling financial data, conducting analysis, maintaining filing systems and maintaining records of transactions. The Administrative Specialist has a crucial role in helping to process financial documents like invoices and expense reports, addressing account discrepancies, coordinating with other departments, handling communications, and suggesting improvements to work processes. Training & Experience: The City will consider any equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, education, and experience to meet minimum qualifications. Such a way to meet minimum qualifications could include: • Associate degree or two-year technical certification in the field of business administration, or a closely related field, and; • 1-2 years of experience in administrative support (Administrative Specialist I) • 3-5 years of experience in advanced administrative support and specialized customer service including financial responsibilities (ex: financial planning, analysis, and reporting, budget preparation assistance, financial reconciliations, and billing) (Administrative Specialist II)

Preferences may be given for knowledge and experience: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for financial functions Solid understanding of financial principles Strong analytical abilities for interpreting financial data Public sector experience

Selection and Interview Process: Top candidates will be invited to complete an Excel skills-based proficiency test. Those candidates that score well will be invited to interviews.
