08/25/2025 Salary Range : $45,748-$52,013 Commensurate with experience and location. Description

Since 2010, JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. (JSI) has been working with the Massachusetts Tobacco Cessation & Prevention Program (MTCP) at the Department of Public Health to collect information on tobacco availability and pricing at retail establishments across the state. JSIs role is limited to tobacco product availability and pricing, staff are not involved in inspections or monitoring other regulatory compliance of retailers.

Data Collectors support this project by performing on-site data collection according to established procedures using a standard survey instrument and entered on a Tablet. Work is done outside the home by traveling to an assigned sample of retail establishments in a specific geographical area within Massachusetts. Due to the variability of the work, there is no guarantee of set number of hours on a weekly or monthly basis. RESPONSIBILITIES

Must be knowledgeable about the data collection survey tool

Must be comfortable to use a tablet for data entry on-site

Visit retail establishments in Massachusetts to collect information on tobacco availability and pricing

Review completed surveys to ensure quality and completeness

Report status of data collection activities to Project Team in a timely manner

Communicate regularly with project staff via email QUALIFICATIONS

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Car and valid drivers license required

Must be available during weekday daytime hours

Must live in Massachusetts KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Personable and articulate

Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures

Ability to use Tablet for data collection
