A hospital is seeking an anesthesiologist for locum tenens coverage. About the Facility Location
The facility is located near Sioux City, Iowa. About the Clinician's Workday
Call is scheduled on a 1:9 rotation, with two call backs per month and 23 weekends of 24-hour call coverage per year. However, the client prefers CRNAs not take call initially, as call is currently covered by MDs. The weekly schedule runs Monday through Friday, with shifts from 7 AM to 3 PM or 7 AM to 5 PM, rotating among CRNAs, and includes a 40-hour weekly guarantee. Daily shift count varies, typically ranging from 4 to 7. Case types include general, orthopedics, pediatrics, cardiac ablations and cardioversions (the only cardiac cases), and OB (approximately 2,000 deliveries per year; CRNAs handle C-sections only, while physicians perform epidurals). There is no trauma or neuro. The facility uses Epic for EMR, and the practice operates under both supervision and medical direction, with 12 physicians always on call. The site includes 6 ORs and 1 GI procedure room.
