Senior Accountant
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and contributing to the overall success of Ouro. Responsibilities:
Monthly Close and Financial Reporting: Lead the capital assets monthly close activities and periodic capitalization reporting deliverables.
Prepare month-end journal entries and adjustments with appropriate support documentation.
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations with appropriate supporting documentation.
Ability to identify irregularities and properly accrue or adjust.
Audit and Compliance: Analyze accounting data in the accounting system to determine if transactions should be recorded as a capital asset on the general ledger and to review and highlight variances, trends, exceptions and discrepancies, taking action as appropriate.
Prepare month-end capital asset reconciliations between capital assets and General Ledger.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and year end audit support.
Interface with external auditors to manage year-end request
Process Improvement: Document all month-end close procedures.
Help identify ongoing process improvements/creation of efficiencies in the current accounting processes.
Communication: Work closely with the FP&A group to ensure accurate reporting
Perform ad-hoc management-related requests and analysis.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
3+ years of experience in accounting.
Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Strong understanding of US GAAP.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Adaptability and eagerness to learn and grow in a dynamic industry.
Ability to train staff and explain processes.
