Junior Cybersecurity Systems Administrator
SAIC is seeking a junior cybersecurity systems administrator eager to work with our cybersecurity subject matter experts on site at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, NM. You will join a collaborative and supportive team, gaining hands-on experience with system administration in a virtualized Linux and Windows environment. The role is ideal for those who are tech-savvy and eager to learn. Primary responsibilities may include: Assist in the monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Linux and Windows enterprise systems Support the execution of security scans and updates under supervision Learn and apply DISA STIG compliance measures with guidance Help configure and maintain virtual machines and networked systems Participate in log management, backup processes, and patching Work closely with senior administrators to troubleshoot issues and optimize system performance Gain exposure to network configurations, firewalls, and enterprise security tools Contribute to documentation updates and system improvements Qualifications This is you: Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with 2 years of experience. Will accept 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree. Minimum 2 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or related technical work Familiarity with Linux/UNIX systems, Windows environments, and virtualization tools DOD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+) Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment You will wow us even more if you have these skills: Experience with installing, configuring and maintaining cybersecurity tools such as eMASS, ACAS and Xacta Working knowledge of virtualization, VMware, remote desktop, remote computer management or equivalent Direct experience with network topology, data flows, firewalls, routers and switches Familiarity with Commvault or other backup solutions Experience with VMware, remote management tools, and cybersecurity best practices Exposure to network security principles and compliance frameworks Interest in automation, scripting, and cloud technologies Strong communication and teamwork skills SAIC is a premier technology integrator, solving our nation's most complex modernization and systems engineering challenges across the defense, space, federal civilian, and intelligence markets.
