Musical Theatre Faculty
The CU Department of Theatre and Dance is looking for an energetic individual to join our growing team as Musical Theatre faculty. The successful candidate will oversee auditions for the Musical Theatre program, serve on the directorial staff for two productions each year, and teach courses related to musical theatre performance. Successful candidates for this position will be able to: Teach courses relating to Vocal Performance, Acting, Auditioning, and Musical Theatre History, and additional core department courses. Serve as Music Director for one Fall Production. Serve in a directorial position for one Spring Production. Assist with recruitment and retention efforts for the department. This includes attending events that require travel. Participate in department and curriculum planning, development, and assessment. Assist in maintaining department facilities, property, and equipment through proper use, and instruction of students regarding proper use. Maintain adequate office hours on weekdays during the academic year. Support the institution's Christian mission and provide a Christian role model for our students. Hold rehearsals as needed during appropriate time frames. Guide students in their assigned roles outside of rehearsals as needed. Attend a minimum of one performance of all department productions. Communicate in a professional and punctual manner regarding creative endeavors. Honor the objectives of the institution and abide by the rules and regulations and Standard of Conduct contained in the Administrative Policies & Procedures Manual and the Faculty Handbook. Basic values such as honesty, integrity, cooperation, promptness, and dependability are required and are an important part of each faculty member's performance review. Attend Convocations and other on-campus events. Other duties as assigned. *Position rank is subject to change based on candidate qualifications.
