Forklift Operator Position
Okanagan Specialty Fruits Inc. (OSF) is seeking a dynamic, growth-focused Forklift Operator. The incumbent is responsible for carrying out daily warehouse tasks and duties with accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced food processing facility. This position assists the operations team to maximize efficiency. Duties & Responsibilities:
Consistent daily operation of a forklift Load outgoing trucks ensuring outgoing product is not damaged prior to and during loading Unload incoming trucks while ensuring incoming materials are not damaged Efficiently feed the processing lines with raw material. Deliver materials to appropriate production areas as needed Relocate finished products from end of production line to proper staging area Locate, relocate, stack, and count inventory Demonstrate accuracy while picking/fulfilling orders Assist processing areas as needed DIR operations Desired Key Competencies:
1-5 years of experience working in a warehouse setting or in logistics; experience in operating material handling equipment preferred Ability to read, write and to follow instructions, and work independently with little guidance Proficient written and verbal communication Ability to operate computers and relevant warehouse management computer software High attention to detail and the ability to work quickly and methodically Strong work ethic and organizational skills Ability to work in a safe manner and adhere to all local/state and federal safety guidelines Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends The ability to remain positive and adapt to change Food Safety Standard knowledge (BRCGS Global Food Safety Standard preferred) Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent Valid Washington State Driver's License Forklift Certification or ability to achieve and maintain Physical and Environmental Demands:
The ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs. The ability to stand, walk, reach, and move for long periods of time. The ability to stand, walk, ascend, and descend stairs The ability to work in varying working climates, i.e., temperatures may vary from very hot to very cold, wet/damp. Exposure to loud noises. The requirement of the use of safety equipment when operating machinery that may include but will not be limited to protective clothing, eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and safety shoes
