Electrical Inspector

Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining high standards of construction and electrical integrity. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Review and assess contractor shop drawings and submittals to confirm compliance with project specifications and design intent. Conduct detailed inspections of electrical installations, materials, and equipment for adherence to contract specifications, codes, and safety standards. Perform tests on electrical systems, including grounding, insulation resistance, and continuity tests. Monitor the installation of wiring, conduits, panels, lighting, and power systems to confirm proper execution. Oversee testing, commissioning, and energization of electrical systems. Coordinate with other inspectors and disciplines to resolve electrical system integration issues. Maintain comprehensive inspection reports, daily logs, and records of test results. Identify and report any potential hazards, design deviations, or work delays to the project management team. Verify contractor work progress and milestone completion per the approved schedule. Conduct labor interviews to confirm workers are correctly classified and compensated. Confirm compliance with safety protocols, including immediate notification of life-threatening safety conditions. Minimum Requirements: BA/BS in Construction, Engineer or related field + 0 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education Preferred Requirements: Experience in reviewing contractor shop drawings and submittals Experience working in and around historic properties OSHA 10-hour training certification 2 years of experience in construction inspection Experience working on GSA managed construction projects Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software Experience working with GSA Project Management Systems Additional Information: This role requires a professional who is detail-oriented, communicative, and committed to upholding the highest standards of safety and quality.
