Inspector Apprentice

The Vehicle Inspector Apprentice will perform inspections on incoming vehicles to detect damage, missing parts, and mechanical or electrical issues. This role is responsible for preparing detailed condition reports, repair/replacement cost estimates, and supporting documentation. Key Responsibilities

Inspect customer vehicles at time of receipt (interior, exterior, engine compartment, trunk, odometer, etc.) and document any damage, missing parts, or issues. Prepare and maintain vehicle condition reports, including photos, cost estimates, and vehicle identification data. Stay current on labor rates, parts charges, manufacturer updates, and inspection procedures. Utilize required systems, software, and web-based applications to document inspections accurately (MIC2.0, ECR, Smart Inspect). Maintain knowledge of inspection techniques, body and mechanical repair procedures, and labor standards. Perform OVE courtesy walk-around inspections. Demonstrate commitment to safety by following all safety and health procedures. May be required to locate, start, and move vehicles as directed. Complete end-of-day procedures and required system updates. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Overtime (over 40 hours/week) may be required based on business needs. Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

High School Diploma or GED Less than 2 years of relevant experience Valid driver's license and a safe driving record Basic computer skills Preferred Qualifications

Ability to drive standard and automatic transmission vehicles Strong technical aptitude with excellent organizational skills Ability to multitask, follow instructions, and work independently Advanced computer skills Attention to detail and accuracy Knowledge of ICAR certifications (preferred) Previous experience in body shop work, automotive mechanical work, or vehicle estimating is a plus Ability to lift up to 30 lbs, bend, stoop, kneel, or stand for extended periods Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, reach, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb Lift and hold at least 10 lbs. at waist level for extended periods (up to 30 lbs. occasionally) Vision: close, distance, depth perception, and color differentiation Exposure to fumes, odors, outdoor weather, and moderate noise levels Compensation

Hourly base pay rate: $18.64 per hour This rate may vary within the anticipated range based on location, knowledge, skills, and experience. This position may also be eligible for additional compensation, including a quarterly incentive program after Level 1 certification. Work Schedule

First 90 days: Monday

Friday, 7:30 a.m.

4:30 p.m. (hours may vary) After 90 days (Level 1 Certification & Insight Work Instruction completion): - Monday

Thursday: 7:30 a.m.

4:30 p.m. - Sunday: 7:00 a.m.
