Dexmate
Mechanical Engineer Position
Dexmate is at the forefront of developing advanced robotic systems that solve real-world challenges. We're building next-generation robots designed to work alongside humans, operate in human environments, and help address growing labor shortages. We are seeking talented Mechanical Engineers to join our dynamic team and contribute to the design, development, and implementation of key hardware components for our robotic systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, hands-on experience with prototyping, and passion for creating elegant mechanical solutions for complex challenges. Responsibilities
Design complex mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD software Develop, test, and validate prototypes to verify design concepts and functionality Create detailed engineering drawings Perform engineering analysis (FEA, MATLAB) to optimize designs for strength, weight, and durability Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical, software, systems) to integrate mechanical components Work with manufacturing partners to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet quality standards Build and test mechanical assemblies, fixtures, and test equipment Document designs, test procedures, and design processes thoroughly Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or related field 3+ years of industrial experience in mechanical design and development for complex mechanical systems Expert proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, OnShape, UG, or similar) Strong understanding of mechanical fundamentals including kinematics, dynamics, and structural analysis Experience with actuators, sensing, transmission systems (strain-wave, planetary, cycloidal gearing, etc.) Familiarity with electromechanical integration (motors, sensors, wire routing, etc.) Hands-on prototyping and testing skills Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment Preferred Qualifications
Experience with robotics systems, particularly humanoid or mobile platforms Knowledge of manufacturing processes and DFM/DFA principles Experience with rapid prototyping techniques (3D printing, CNC machining) Familiarity with high-volume manufacturing processes Experience working with contract manufacturers
