Study Director (SD I/II/III/Senior SD)

Texas Biomed is actively recruiting an experienced Study Director to join its Applied Science and Innovation (ASI) Division. We are looking for individuals with pre-clinical Study Director experience who are eager to contribute to a dynamic, fast-paced, and internationally important organization performing GLP and animal rule biocontainment research in support of developing diagnostics, therapies, and vaccines to protect our nation. The successful candidate will also help contribute to training programs and enhanced technical capacity to support Texas Biomed's mission of advancing global health and biodefense research. Applicants with experience and a track record of success will be prioritized, especially in biosafety level 3 and 4.

The Role:

Serve as Study Director for preclinical studies involving small animals (rodents, ferrets), non-human primates (NHPs), and other animal models. Interpret and integrate in-life, clinical, and laboratory data to write high-quality final study reports from outline through submission. Analyze bioanalytical and pharmacokinetic (PK) data, and interface with bioanalytical teams and regulatory sponsors. Support studies across diverse therapeutic modalities, including vaccines, therapeutic monoclonal antibodies, and metabolic drugs. Collaborate with Quality Assurance and regulatory teams to maintain compliance with GLP and other regulatory standards. Contribute to the build-out of GLP study capabilities, including:

Training and mentoring of junior study staff Development of SOPs and study workflows Input on assay qualification, staffing needs, and facility readiness Interface with cross-functional teams, including BSL-4 operations, to ensure safe and efficient performance of complex regulated studies.

Provide insights on talent acquisition, retention, and performance management, including promotions, reviews, and salary adjustments, to support team growth and development. Our Ideal Candidate:

Ph.D., D.V.M., or equivalent in biomedical sciences, microbiology, virology, immunology, or a related field. Proven experience as a Study Director. Excitement to contribute to the growth and expansion of a GLP-compliant infrastructure at Texas Biomed. A strong publication record is desirable, demonstrating contributions to scientific advancements. Hands-on experience in BSL-3 and BSL-4 environments is strongly preferred, with a deep understanding of biocontainment protocols. How to Apply?
