Superstructure Resident Engineer

As a Superstructure Resident Engineer on our team in Houston you'll have the opportunity to provide oversight for construction of complex bridge and transportation projects, to ensure that the design documentation is safely and accurately implemented on site, and that the requirements of the construction contract are followed. Additionally in this role, you will: Lead a team in monitoring the progress of construction against the program and advising steps to ensure the program is achieved. Manage and direct a team of site inspectors and support staff for the supervision of the project. Ensure regular inspections are being performed by the team and documented as per client requirements. Report any non-conformance issues promptly and ensure corrective actions are taken. Report on progress, safety, financial recommendations, quality control and design modifications. Co-ordinate work with designers and other stakeholders as needed. You will report to the project manager. As a part of this role, you will be expected to use your leadership and communication skills to develop a trusted relationship with the project team, contractor and with the client's staff. Your responsibility will be to effectively communicate with all members of the project team and work to mitigate or eliminate project risks. You will be expected to place an emphasis on safe construction practices (Beyond Zero) and on maintaining a high quality of construction. You must lead by example and oversee safe practices on site. Here's what you'll need: Bachelor's degree in construction, Civil or other Engineering discipline Strong experience serving as construction specialist or resident engineer on the construction of major transportation or bridge projects Professional Engineer License; Should be able to get TX PE via reciprocity within several months from appointment Strong working knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, building systems/components and technology, construction engineering, document controls and client relationship Ideally, you'll also have: PTI Level 1 Multistrand and Grouted PT Inspector Certification Experience in the design and construction engineering of cable-stayed bridges Jacobs' health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about.
