Manufacturing Equipment Operator
Responsible for starting, set-up, testing, adjustments or calibration, preventative maintenance, and operation of complex manufacturing equipment to maximize the quality and quantity of products. May provide informal work direction to new or less experienced colleagues. Diagnose problems with equipment and make minor repairs. Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations and safety standards. This position operates with the parameters of established procedures and guidelines. Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for the start, set-up, and calibration or adjustment of equipment for quality and productivity. Tune equipment as necessary during production and perform general preventative maintenance on equipment during downtime. Responsible for assisting lesser skilled production workers and troubleshooting of production issues. Monitor and adjust production processes or equipment for quality and productivity in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Must be able to execute position requirements with little or no supervision. Ensure compliance with federal and state regulatory and safety standards, including but not limited to FDA and OSHA. Provide information and/or work direction to new or lesser skilled production workers. Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to product specifications. Advise lead or supervisor of any variations from specifications. Evaluate equipment to determine functionality and mechanical condition. Identify any issues and take corrective action as needed. Complete and maintain preventative maintenance logs and service records May be required to shut down equipment for cleaning and repair. Understand the operation of various equipment and run equipment if needed. Specify the tools necessary to perform job functions and maintain tools in good working condition. Aid in determining the specifications and requirements of spare parts. Utilize existing and future maintenance management systems effectively. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for effective manufacture and distribution of materials. Minimum of six months experience in a production environment with knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair, maintenance and attention to detail and accuracy. Evidence of ability to identify problems and review related information to develop options and solve problems. Ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial electromechanical equipment, including single phase AC circuits, three phase AC circuits, and DC circuits. Operational knowledge of electromechanical devices and components. Working knowledge of GMP, OSHA and FDA and other regulatory and safety requirements and practices. Ability to communicate clearly and explain technical manufacturing equipment. Evidence of organization and planning skills and ability to meet production deadlines. Knowledge of basic mathematical skills (ability to understand numbers, percentages, formulas, etc.) Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Previous experience with quality control and lean manufacturing principles. Working Conditions:
Position may require continuous standing, lifting, bending and moving of heavy weight (over 50 pounds) material in difficult work positions.
