Commissioning Manager
We are seeking a Commissioning Manager to oversee a portfolio of renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and battery storage. This role involves executing assigned renewable power plant projects and leading teams in commissioning, startup, and operational turnover. Responsibilities include ensuring commissioning activities for assigned projects are performed with high quality and adhere to all safety policies. Coordinate and manage EPC contractor personnel, OEM startup personnel, third-party startup contractors, and operations personnel on-site regarding commissioning and startup. Ensure project reliability at operational turnover with minimal lost time during initial operation. Ensure compliance with all project contractual documents, including Power Purchase Agreement and Large Generator Interconnect Agreement deliverables with local utility. Interface with Transmission Operators and Independent Service Operators to achieve project energization dates. Manage onsite commissioning personnel. Interface with project's designated safety, engineering, and quality control parties. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Essential Skills include knowledge of electrical construction and commissioning means and methods, including NEC and NFPA. Experience in Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) integration and troubleshooting. Expertise in E&I controls and instrumentation installation, startup, and troubleshooting. Proficiency in Protection and Controls implementation and troubleshooting. Experience in drawing review, quality control inspection, and progress reporting. Computer skills, including Outlook, PDF editing, Word, Excel, document control systems, and PowerPoint. Ability to manage third parties and suppliers. Experience in managing direct report team members. Understanding of schedule and planning. Additional Skills & Qualifications include being a self-starter with a high drive for quality, execution, and safety. Eight years of experience in on-site project support for renewable power generation project construction startup and commissioning. Minimum of five years of experience working for an EPC in renewable power generation project construction startup and commissioning. Proven ability to interact with engineering personnel on highly technical issues and construction personnel on constructability, schedule, and cost issues. Proven track record in multitasking and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously. This position involves working remotely on job sites with travel home when needed. The role is part of the largest utility in the world, with a battery storage department that has numerous projects to keep consultants engaged for years to come. The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $80.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
