Senior Director of the Workplace Learning Innovation Lab
The NYU School of Professional Studies (SPS) is seeking a Senior Director of the Workplace Learning Innovation Lab. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be involved with shaping the future of workplace learning, collaborating with cross-functional teams, industry partners, and thought leaders to deliver impactful, forward-thinking initiatives. The role also incorporates leading the unit's workforce development initiatives and partnerships. These critical efforts that transform how NYU and its partners in the NYC workforce-learning ecosystem cultivate and enhance employee skills, knowledge, and capabilities for the job structures that provide family-sustaining wages, economic security and social mobility for learners and communities. In addition, the Senior Director plays a pivotal role in building and leading a dynamic team of experts, practitioners, and administrators to drive the design, development, and implementation of innovative educational solutions focused on workplace learning and applied degrees. Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Education. Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in Education, Learning Sciences, Instructional Design, Business Development, or a related field. Or a Ph.D in a field and with a focus relevant to the Senior Director's role Required Experience:
7+ years in public and/or private sector workforce/educational development leadership roles Preferred Experience:
10+ years in advanced government and industry roles supporting workplace development initiative implementation Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Demonstrated planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional groups and possess a proven track record of leadership and innovation in the field of workplace learning, adult education, or related disciplines. Knowledge of project management methodologies, strong quantitative modeling skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to write well, speak effectively, and work in fast-paced environment responding to ad-hoc requests. Ability to understand long-term goals, drive change and push the boundaries of traditional learning approaches. Approach projects and opportunities with an entrepreneurial mindset. Strong understanding of instructional design principles, learning technologies, and emerging trends in workplace learning. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization. Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams. Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build ecosystem networks, drive change and push the boundaries of traditional learning approaches. Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Senior leadership experience with public and private sectors leading and designing inclusive workforce-development solutions at scale. Strong grounding in the history of workforce development and its relationship to historical economic inequities and social injustices. Experience with workforce-development ecosystem. Knowledge and experience of successful public-private partnership models for workforce solutions both within and beyond the U.S. Additional Information
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $114,500.00 to USD $154,500.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
