Vtc Engineer
Peraton is looking for a VTC Engineer to support a contract onsite in Arlington. In this role, the VTC Engineer will be responsible for configuring, managing, monitoring, and maintaining government Command and Control (C2) conference rooms and video-teleconferencing endpoints. The VTC Engineer is responsible for but not limited to: Tier II phone support of reported customer incidents supporting network conference room video systems, desktop video systems, video conferencing systems, video gateways, and video control systems. Provide End User support, to include in-room and external network support with graphical user interface access and operability; troubleshooting, scheduling and administering video teleconferences. Conduct testing and configuration of existing VTC hardware, including application of security controls, generation and application of security certificates, and specialized configuration testing for individual platforms. Perform patch and firmware upgrades of VTC devices, break/fix support and daily operations and management support, including onsite assistance for special events. Testing and evaluation of video infrastructure equipment such as multi-controller units, meeting systems, video content servers, and video control systems. Testing and evaluation of video endpoint devices and associated peripherals. Documentation and reporting of all associated testing activities. Develop and provide training to end users on the various endpoint devices. Required Qualifications: An active/current TS/SCI Security Clearance is required. Bachelors degree in computer science or related field and eight (8) years of related experience or a commensurate combination of education, training and experience, is required; Masters degree and six (6) years of relevant experience; four years of relevant experience in the above-cited duties may be substituted in lieu of a degree. A current 8570 compliant certification. At least five (5) years of experience with VOIP Protocols (SIP, H.323), Unified Communications Implementation, Gateway Solution Implementation, PABX / PSTN, Wireshark, SIP, Networking. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in support of Cisco CUCM environment for video collaboration. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in support of Cisco Telepresence, Video Communications and Meeting Server management. Minimum of two (2) years of experience interacting with high-profile executives and addressing video conferencing support needs. Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with encoding and decoding streaming technology. Minimum of two (2) years of troubleshooting and repairing of VTC equipment (Voice, video, and conference room control equipment). Desired Qualifications: Five (5) years of experience in support of Cisco CUCM environment for video collaboration. Five (5) years of experience in support of Cisco Telepresence, Video Communications and Meeting Server management. Technical certification in Cisco Voice and Video Engineering. Direct experience with Cisco Telepresence Management System, Video Control Server, Cisco Meeting Server, WebEx Pro desktop video systems, and WebEx Pro system CODECs. Experience with the ITIL library in support of incident and change management. Experience with a maintenance ticketing system to manage incidents and problems. Knowledge of Solarwinds, Splunk, and Variphy monitoring systems. Previous experience supporting a government and/or Department of Defense customer.
