RapidScale is seeking a Director of Cloud Infrastructure to lead our architecture and engineering teams responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and evolving the core platforms that power our cloud services. This individual will oversee the performance, reliability, and operational excellence of RapidScale's infrastructure, both on-premises and across public cloud environments, while ensuring a scalable and secure foundation for product innovation and customer success. This is a highly visible leadership role that demands strong technical depth, strategic vision, and a hands-on approach to execution. The Director will manage a high-performing team, drive infrastructure modernization initiatives, support cross-functional collaboration, and deliver a world-class cloud experience for our customers. The overall Hosted Cloud Infrastructure team is responsible for successfully designing, planning, building and operating the RapidScale Cloud platforms. The Architects are primarily responsible for leading new initiatives or significant changes from inception to implementation. The Engineering team is primarily responsible for sustaining, upgrading & extending platforms. All department members provide advanced support, troubleshooting, and management of the RapidScale Cloud platforms. Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Provide strategic and tactical leadership for RapidScale's cloud infrastructure. Lead, develop, and mentor a team of engineers and architects. Plan and manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, and roadmap execution. Maintain high availability, performance, and compliance of infrastructure services. Drive platform evolution through sustained engineering, upgrades, lifecycle refreshes. Champion operational excellence using observability tools. Serve as the escalation point for major incidents. Lead cross-functional change coordination across multiple data centers. Ensure disciplined adherence to ITIL and service provider best practices. Partner closely with teams across Support, Product, Project Management, Security, and Compliance. Lead major infrastructure initiatives and projects. Provide regular reporting on infrastructure KPIs, operational metrics. Optimize software licensing, vendor relationships, and resource utilization. Minimum: Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 10 years' experience in a related field. Expertise & competence with Infrastructure architecture, implementation, operations, upgrades, management and capacity planning. Willingness to work on a 24x7 on-call rotation schedule & travel up to 25% for work in RapidScale data centers & professional development. Protects and maintains the integrity of our company and customer information. Preferred: Experience operating as a provider and customer in multi-tenant environment(s) Defining & Maintaining SLO/SLA's, & Best Practices Experience with Virtualization Technologies, Networking, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery, VDI, Storage, Compute, Public Clouds (Azure, AWS, GC) The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members.
