Senior Splunk Engineer

Our goal is to be a trusted mission partner in enabling cyber readiness and resilience across the Air Force and U.S. Cyber Command. We're seeking an experienced Senior Splunk Engineer to join our mission-driven team supporting the U.S. Air Force's Unified Platform software factory in San Antonio. In this role, you will focus on deploying, managing, and optimizing Splunk infrastructure in AWS-hosted Linux environments to enable real-time monitoring, log ingestion, and security analytics. In this position, you can expect to: Build and maintain Splunk infrastructure across multiple enclaves in AWS Manage log ingestion pipelines and optimize indexing strategies for performance and cost Develop and refine dashboards, alerts, and detection logic to support cyber defense operations Troubleshoot data flow and infrastructure issues in Linux-based environments Collaborate with platform, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams to support observability and compliance efforts. As with any technical environment, the exact role responsibilities will evolve with the changing needs of our client. We are looking for adaptable engineers who thrive on new challenges and can take on additional responsibilities beyond those listed above. Preferred experience and qualifications: Hands-on experience deploying and managing Splunk infrastructure Strong AWS experience, particularly with networking, EC2, and storage configurations for Splunk Proficiency with Linux system administration and troubleshooting Familiarity with log parsing, data ingestion, and knowledge object creation (SPL, dashboards, alerts) Experience with automation tools (e.g., Bash, Python, Terraform, Ansible) is a plus Understanding of DoD security practices and enclave-based architectures is preferred. Active Secret clearance is required. B.S. in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Computer Science, or equivalent experience. This position is remote-friendly, but candidates local to San Antonio, TX may be asked to provide on-site support as needed.
