This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all electrical and mechanical equipment and appurtenances at all Public Utilities facilities. Job Description: Install, replace, repair, and modify mechanical and electrical equipment located on and within Public Utilities facilities including pumps, valves, regulators, actuators, control panels, communication systems, motor controls, electronic filtering and switching system, production, monitoring and injection wells; Chemical feed pumps and chemical delivery systems including piping and valving. Ensure compliance with all Federal, State and County safety requirements, including lock-out/tag-out and confined space entry as well as general industry safety rules. Document and maintain work order and safety records in written and in electronic format. Respond to emergency situations as needed. Perform utility grounds maintenance that may include mowing, trimming of shrubbery, weed-eating, pressure washing, fence repairs, and painting. Maintain assigned equipment and vehicles. *Must wear Uniforms and Safety Shoes Work Hours: 7:00 a.m.

3:30 p.m. Monday

Friday ** This position is subject to on-call duties that include working overtime, evening, nights, weekends and holidays. Work schedules may vary due to split shifts, rotations, on-call, emergencies, etc. About You: Minimum Qualifications: A High school diploma or its equivalent and three (3) years of experience, education, training, or any combination of experience, education, and training in applicable trades which include work in the water/wastewater, industrial electrician, or industrial mechanic field. Possession of a valid Florida Drivers License at time of hire. Possession of a valid Florida Class "A" CDL Driver's License. Preferred Qualifications: Proficient in the operation of a 1.5 ton crane truck. Certifications from trade school in pumps, valves, electrical or fluid mechanics. Pump or motor repair, control panel repair, hydraulics, fluid mechanics, and welding. Safety training in Training in Hazcom, Confined Spaces, Hearing Protection, Bloodborne Pathogens, Respirators, Workplace Violence, Lockout/Tagout, Fire Extinguishers, Personal Protection Equipment. Physical Demands: Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.
