Engineering Intern
The Transportation Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Transportation Engineering Intern for immediate employment in the Cincinnati, Ohio office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting and challenging projects on the local and national level, including the Brent Spence Corridor project where AECOM is functioning as the lead designer. The intern can look forward to projects including highway and bridge related design. Example Activities: Perform design calculations for highway and bridge design projects. Design in AutoCAD and Microstation. Assist project manager/project engineer in preparation of planning documents. Assist project manager/project engineer in development of construction documents to include Civil drawings and technical specifications. In addition to in-office engineering work, AECOM offers a 10 week virtual internship learning program from June through August designed to help you learn more about AECOM, expand your professional network, help you realize your career potential at AECOM and have fun! Minimum Requirements: Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an interest in transportation engineering at an ABET-accredited university and must have completed at least one year of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a Bachelor's degree and plan to continue with a Master's degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor's degree in the most recent school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline after the internship. Due to the nature of this position, U.S. citizenship is required Valid driver's license required. Preferred Qualifications: Must currently be enrolled as a Junior or Senior in a local ABET-accredited university, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an interest in transportation engineering. Must have working knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) programs. Must have excellent written and communication skills.
