Mechanical Design Section Senior Manager
You will be the Mechanical Design Section Senior Manager for Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control, responsible for functionally managing Mechanical Design teams in both Dallas and Orlando. Our team is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing engineering goals and objectives within Engineering & Technology and the Hardware Design & Analysis directorate. As the Mechanical Design Section Senior Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of mechanical design engineers and overseeing the development of mechanical designs for multiple Lines of Businesses (LOBs). You will play a critical role in driving the planning, implementation, and oversight of engineering goals and objectives. Your responsibilities will include: Providing enterprise functional management support to multiple LOBs across assigned sites Generating, maintaining, and changing Technical Data Packages for hardware products Providing technical and process oversight, recommendations, and support to program Engineering & Technology Managers (ETMs) and Hardware Engineering Managers Managing workforce planning, performance management, and talent development Participating in proposal submissions, program-level reviews, and technical reviews Driving adoption of new tools and processes, including model-based enterprise We provide the resources and give you the flexibility to enable inspiration and focus - if you have the passion and courage to dream big, work hard, and have fun doing what you love then we want to build a better tomorrow with you. This position is in Orlando, FL or Dallas, TX. MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance. Basic Qualifications: Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance Appropriate degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education, with professional experience and specialized training commensurate with the assignment; preferably BSME or MSME, or BSAE or MSAE Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Must have good interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to work with all levels of an organization Adaptable and flexible with ability to manage change and lead an organization Ability to assume a future role as a program technical leader Desired Skills: Previous experience as a Functional Manager or Functional Lead within MFC Experience with Hardware Engineering related to Mechanical Design products, processes, and tools. Leadership skills amenable to Chief Engineering or Program Management. Good understanding of Mechanical Design Assurance Practices Lockheed Martin is an equal opportunity employer.
