Diagnostic Medical Sonography Full-Time Tenure Faculty
Olympic College is recruiting a full-time tenure-track faculty to teach courses in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. The salary range is $78,411 - $109,033 annually. The position is located at the Bremerton Campus, WA. The DMS faculty position involves teaching didactic, laboratory, and clinical courses, advising students, contributing to program assessment and accreditation efforts, and engaging in department, division, and college activities to support student success and professional growth. Essential functions include teaching and developing courses in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program, designing, implementing, and updating course curriculum, conducting student assessments, supervising students in clinical settings, engaging in academic advising, participating in program accreditation processes, maintaining expertise in the field, contributing to faculty governance, collaborating with healthcare partners, utilizing learning management systems, and fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications Possess a minimum of an Associate's degree from an accredited institution in Diagnostic Medical Sonography; Current American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or equivalent Board-certification in Abdomen and OB/GYN Ultrasound; Two (2) years of recent clinical experience in diagnostic ultrasound; Have experience teaching and/or precepting DMS students; Ability to connect and build relationships with students and colleagues from various ethnicities, ages, backgrounds, learning styles, and abilities; Computer competency to include Microsoft Office Suites applications; The gross and fine motor skills required to assist students and providing safe effective diagnostic ultrasound; The physical endurance and ability to work in a clinical setting with students for 4-6 hours; The physical endurance and strength sufficient to assist students with providing diagnostic ultrasound; and Currently hold an unencumbered DMS (RDMS) license in WA state. Desired Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in DMS or related field from an accredited institution; Have experience with accreditation standards (JRC-DMS, CAHEEP); Prior classroom and clinical teaching experience in a community college setting; and Experience with curriculum development and Canvas LMS. Faculty members must submit official, unopened transcripts to the Human Resources department within 30 days of their employment. This is a full-time faculty position contracted on an annual basis. Placement on the faculty salary schedule will be commensurate with educational background and experience. The salary listed is a range based on per month for the quarter. A collective bargaining agreement exists, and this position is covered by the Association for Higher Education (AHE). Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the department. Evening and/or weekend classes, instruction at satellite Olympic College campuses, and off-campus assignments may be a part of the instructional load.
