Caregiver Position
Home Helpers Home Care of Manassas-Gainesville is looking for reliable, flexible, and dedicated caregivers to join our team in a unique Standby/On-Call Caregiver role. This position is ideal for someone who has open availability, is ready to work on short notice, and enjoys stepping in to make a difference when help is most needed. Specific schedule: On-call coverage during pre-assigned days and times (shifts may rotate weekly) including nights, weekends, and holidays. This is a great fit for someone who: Has minimal outside time commitments (such as family obligations) Is seeking consistent hours in a flexible but essential role Works well under pressure and enjoys variety in daily assignments Responsibilities: Be available to respond to urgent shift needs within 1 hour of notification Provide short-term or emergency coverage for caregivers who are unavailable Deliver safe, compassionate care including assistance with daily living activities (bathing, grooming, meals, transfers, companionship, etc.) Follow established care plans and document visits accurately Communicate promptly and professionally with the office team Work environment: Must have reliable transportation and a flexible schedule Travel required throughout Prince William County and surrounding areas Must be open to working overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts (rotate with other caregivers as needed) Weekly standby schedule can rotate based on availability and team needs Qualifications: CNA, HHA, or prior caregiving experience preferred Minimum 18 years of age High school diploma or GED Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs Clear background check and valid driver's license (preferred) Strong communication, reliability, and problem-solving skills Compensation: Hourly pay for any shifts worked: $18.00$20.00/hour Standby retainer pay may be available for designated on-call windows Benefits: Flexible schedule Paid training Direct deposit Employee referral bonuses Paid orientation and ongoing support Work location: In the field
