Lead Power Systems Controls Engineer
Eaton's Electrical Services & Systems division is currently seeking a Lead Power Systems Controls Engineer. This is a remote role with 25% travel. A company vehicle is included! Our experience transcends a multitude of equipment manufacturers, software packages, and network architectures, including all major OEM's HMI's, PLC's, and components. We offer single point responsibility, a high level of engineering and systems integration expertise, and a unified focus on cost effective solutions, seamless integration, HMI development, energy management tools, and professional turnkey system design and implementation. As a Lead Power Systems Controls Engineer, you will lead the development, testing, and implementation of power systems control solutions for our customers using PLC's, HMI's, Multi-function Protection Relays, and Substation gateways from all major OEM's. In this role, you will: Design Power Systems Controls. Program Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's) & Human Machine Interfaces (HMI's). Program Protection relay schemes to implement controls with or without Data Concentrator. Manage hyper scale data center projects to implement power system controls, factory & witness testing, and on-site commissioning with the support from other team members. Support negotiations through consultation, sales calls, and training. Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a Technical Field from an accredited institution with a minimum of 7 years of power systems controls experience OR a Master's degree in Engineering or a Technical Field with at least 4 years of power systems controls experience. Must possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver's license. No relocation is being offered for this position. Only candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of Chandler, AZ, City of Industry, CA, Pleasanton, CA, Roseville, CA, San Diego, CA, Littleton, CO, Wilsonville, OR, Las Vegas, NV, Salt Lake City, UT, Tukwila, WA will be considered. Active-duty military candidates are exempt from this requirement. Preferred Qualifications:
Master of Science in Electrical Engineering
Professional Engineering license Experience working with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming and interacting with the direct customer on a technical basis and managing and deployment of power automation projects Skills:
Knowledge and understanding of best engineering practices for design of automation systems, power management systems, human-machine interface software, PLC programming, etc. Knowledge and understanding of protection relays based monitoring and control systems. Working knowledge of test equipment and diagnostic instruments for automation and power management systems. Knowledge of troubleshooting, test and repair techniques. Understanding of the company's and competitor's automation and power management systems and services. Strong computer literacy - Working knowledge of all software packages relevant to successful performance of tasks. Knowledge and practice of safety precautions related to working with automation and power systems. Has demonstrated ability to provide service and represent company interests in developing customer relationships to assure long-term customer satisfaction. Excellent interpersonal and communication/presentation skills. Experience with AutoCAD. Successfully complete and maintain compliance with the company's safety program. Submit to periodic customer required background and drug screenings.
