Job Title

The Center for Survey Research (CSR) was founded in 1988 and has grown into a full-service academic survey research facility. The vast majority of studies conducted by CSR are on behalf of public institutions, primarily local governments and state agencies. CSR does not conduct any sales calls or partisan political research. Much of the data collection at CSR is handled by the CATI lab. This process involves a variety of activities related to telephone surveys, mail surveys, and web surveys. All necessary training on computer systems used in the lab is provided by CSR. This position offers Telephone Interviewers valuable research experience, flexible hours, and a friendly work environment. No prior experience required. Preferred experiences include positions involving customer interactions (retail, food service, etc.), working in an office, or telephone interviewing/phone banking. Job Responsibilities

Conduct reminder calling to potential respondents and complete telephone interviews. Carefully enter data from paper surveys on a computer. Stuff envelopes for large scale mailouts of paper surveys. If fluent in Spanish, translate surveys and related materials from English into Spanish. Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned based on need and skillset. The CATI lab schedule is determined by our current projects, sometimes we will be open 5-7 days a week 9am-8pm, other times hours will be more constrained. Shift sign-ups are flexible, just a matter of communicating with the supervisory team on your availability. Minimum weekly hours are 10 hours per week, though a 15-hour minimum is preferred. Starting Pay is $15.00 per hour. CSR is located at the Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service, located at 2400 Old Ivy Rd, Charlottesville, VA 22903. There is parking at this location as well as a bus line that goes through the UVA grounds. Opportunities for remote work are available.
