Pro Tutor (Standing Position)
POSITION LOCATION: Fort Morgan, CO EMPLOYMENT SPECIFICS: Part-Time: up to 28 hours per week. PURPOSE/SUMMARY OF JOB: A U.S. Department of Education Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions (DHSI) - Title V grant funds this position (Award #: P031S190160). The Pro Tutor will support the mission of the Learning Commons and the Tutoring Center by providing free tutoring services both on campus and online. This position requires the Pro Tutor to demonstrate mastery in a field of study, while also demonstrating a proficiency or aptitude for tutoring others. The Pro Tutor will provide tutoring services of the highest quality while serving as a resource and mentor to Peer Tutors and MCC students. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution in a relevant field of study to the program offerings at MCC. Demonstrated working knowledge or having recently earned an "A" in the subject area. Math Tutors must have successfully completed coursework or have a working knowledge in calculus. High proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including but not limited to Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong verbal and written communication skills. A demonstrated commitment to education and MCC's core values of integrity, respect, collaboration, and communication. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in a relevant field of study to the program offerings at MCC. Bilingual in English and another language spoken in the MCC community. Experience teaching or tutoring.
