The Raytheon team is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to support the X-Band Radar (XBR) Agile Release Train (ART). XBR is the world's largest solid-state X-Band Phased Array radar. Sea-Based X-Band (SBX) is located on a semi-submersible platform that can be tactically relocated to provide optimal coverage for defense of the homeland. This position is onsite in Woburn, Massachusetts at the Missile Defense Center (MDC). What you will do: As a member of this team, support new radar capabilities, test, Formal Qualification Test (FQT) and graphical user interface (GUI) development. Be responsible for the development of new and changed Radar system requirements and trouble reports for the XBR Program, including regression and formal test. Develop and maintain software code in Ada and C++ for radar algorithm implementation, ensuring high performance and reliability. Design and implement graphical user interfaces (GUIs) using Qt for radar systems, enhancing user experience and interaction. Design, develop, and test Radar software in an agile, collaborative environment, ultimately delivering build releases to the Radar site. Participate in agile execution and continuous improvement. Work collaboratively with Systems and System Integration & Test (SI&T) engineers to analyze, develop, and test system requirement modifications to the existing Radar system baseline. Work closely with stakeholders, including other engineering teams, program leadership, and the customer to refine the product backlog and ensure team priorities are aligned with program execution and release dates. Develop software in a Continuous Integration / Continuous Development (CI/CD) environment. Qualifications you must have: Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other STEM related field. A minimum of 2 years of relevant software development experience. Experience in developing complex systems and applications using Ada, C/C++, Java, or an other object-oriented programming language. The ability to obtain an Interim Secret U.S. government-issued security clearance prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Some experience in developing back-end, full-stack or embedded software development. Experience working in agile or similar methodologies. Qualifications we value: Experience with multithreading, memory management, and performance optimization in complex environments. Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles. Well-developed communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of and ability to work within the Agile Scrum development practice. Experience contributing to a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to complex technical problems. Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements. Ability to promote a culture of continuous learning, cross-team collaboration and training. Active Secret security clearance.
