Technical Sales Representative - Tube Fabrication Services
Woodsage is seeking a driven and experienced Technical Sales Representative - Tube Fabrication Services to join our outside sales team. This role will help expand our footprint in fabricated steel components and tube-based assemblies. This individual will be responsible for developing new business, managing key accounts, and working cross-functionally with our internal engineering and production teams. This role is ideal for a self-starter with technical knowledge of steel fabrication and a proven track record in industrial or OEM sales. Role and Responsibilities
The Technical Sales Representative's responsibilities include, but may not be limited to: Drive growth of Woodsage's fabricated product line, including tube weldments, brackets, machined parts, and custom steel assemblies. Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company objectives and revenue targets. Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities across OEM and industrial markets. Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling to maximize revenue potential. Maintain strong relationships with engineers, buyers, and operations leaders at key customer accounts. Provide technical guidance on manufacturability, tolerances, and material selection in collaboration with Woodsage's engineering team. Prepare and deliver customer quotes, ensuring pricing aligns with material cost, labor, and market expectations. Active pipeline development and management with a focus on increasing active customers and growing volume sales. Maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities in CRM, with clear stages and estimated revenue Maintain a high level of rapport with all customers and establish an open line of communication. Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, and customer feedback to inform product development and go-to-market strategy. Participate in trade shows, customer visits, and plant tours as required (travel 3050%). Other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field. May consider equivalent experience. 3+ years of sales experience in industrial sales. Strong understanding of fabrication processes: MIG/TIG welding, laser cutting, bending, machining, powder coating. Experience with fabricated metal components, steel tube mills, or contract manufacturing strongly preferred. Ability to interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical specifications. Excellent interpersonal skills with a consultative selling style. Experience working in CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.). Willingness to travel regionally and nationally. Experience selling to conveyor OEMs, material handling companies, or heavy equipment manufacturers. Familiarity with lean manufacturing and custom-to-order production environments. Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills Results oriented and performance driven Strong decision making and negotiation skills Ability to adapt to changes in a fast pace environment Strong organization skills and ability to prioritize work. Detail oriented Computer proficient in Microsoft Office
