Market Manager
Primary responsibilities include leading and developing people, merchandising, budget controls, recruiting, hiring, retention, total controllable loss and store profitability. Additional key responsibilities include establishing revenue and expense objectives, implementing marketing programs, along with evaluation and growth of direct reports. This position has the financial and operational leadership responsibility for 10-15 stores in the geographical area. The Market Manager supports the company goals by focusing on personal accountability, customer service and work efficiency. Essential job functions include maximizing store sales through excellent customer service, product availability and merchandising, providing direction to store management with merchandising programs, managing controllable costs, collaborating with the marketing team, achieving financial objectives, ensuring vendor compliance, ensuring store operations are profitable, maintaining a safe working environment, providing leadership and direction to store managers, adhering to company operating policies, contributing to team effort, performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, maintaining a professional image, and enhancing professional and technical knowledge. Requirements include a bachelor's degree in business or related field, three to five years of retail business experience in multi-site leadership, demonstrated leadership ability, good communication skills, self-directed, self-motivated, customer service oriented, ability to supervise and train store managers, expertise with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Power Point, and Word, and a current valid driver's license. Physical demands include sitting, talking, and hearing; using hands to handle or grasp items; standing, walking, and reaching with both hands and arms; occasionally lifting and carrying up to 60 pounds, up to 30 minutes a workday; occasionally lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds, up to 30 minutes a workday; occasionally lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds, up to 30 minutes a workday; and pushing and pulling with arms up to a force of 20 pounds.
