Experienced Esri System Administrator
We are seeking an experienced Esri System Administrator to support geospatial enterprise systems within a government/defense environment. This position offers you the chance to work on a tight knit team and learn from seasoned pros to level up your career. The ideal candidate will have successful experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, secure system administration practices, and working within IC or DoD secure environments. Together with your team, you will be responsible for managing and securing our GIS platform in accordance with accreditation standards, supporting mission-critical operations, and collaborating with analysts and developers across secure programs. Note: US citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance is mandatory for this position. Must be open to CI Poly. Location:
Herndon, VA. This is a full time onsite role; hybrid/remote work not supported. Principal Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and manage ArcGIS Enterprise and other GIS components in a classified IT environment. Ensure all GIS systems comply with DoD cybersecurity policies, including DISA STIGs, RMF, and ACAS/HBSS reporting requirements. Administer various GIS tools in a disconnected environment. Perform system hardening, patch management, and vulnerability mitigation. Collaborate with developers and analysts to deploy secure web services, geoprocessing tools, and custom applications. Monitor performance, availability, and logging; generate system health reports as required. Maintain documentation for accreditation, audits, and change management processes. Support geospatial DevSecOps and infrastructure-as-code initiatives where applicable. Skills Required:
4 + years of technical experience in deploying and maintaining GIS capabilities in to operations. 1+ years of experience with Esri software stack. Familiarity with ICD 503 and DoD cybersecurity standards (e.g., DISA STIGs, RMF, ACAS). Experience managing SSL certificates, firewalls, and system security settings. Proficient in scripting and optimization. Enjoy troubleshooting, documentation, and communication. Willingness to work onsite 80% or as needs dictate. Degree or equivalent demonstrated experience in a technical field. Active TS/SCI clearance and US citizenship. 4 year degree in GIS or engineering science (or equivalent experience) Additional Skills Desired:
Understanding of GIS data formats and data publishing. Experience supporting mission planning, intelligence, or tactical geospatial applications. Esri certifications (e.g., ArcGIS Enterprise Administration Professional) or DoD 8570 certifications (e.g., Security+, CISSP).
