The College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Azusa Pacific University invites applications for a faculty position in the Department of Kinesiology program. The qualified individual will teach in the Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology major. We welcome applicants with expertise in the following areas: exercise physiology, fitness and exercise prescription, sports performance, strength and conditioning, personal training, and fitness management. Responsibilities include: Excellent teaching at the undergraduate level in a Christian University setting. Potential courses may include anatomy and physiology, fundamentals of fitness/personal training, exercise physiology, sports performance, strength and conditioning, nutrition, fitness management, and discipline-specific writing courses. Specific courses taught will be negotiable based on the applicant's areas of specialization and interest. Develop and participate in a research agenda that engages undergraduate students and colleagues in the department and school. Candidates with a history of research grant funding and publication are highly desired. Serve the program, department, and university as a productive and collaborative colleague. Mentor undergraduate students through discipline-specific faith integration and spiritual formation. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Level: Faculty Appointment, rank based on education and experience. Qualifications: A terminal degree in Kinesiology or related fields is required. Candidates skilled at creating active learning experiences in kinesiology courses are highly desired. Preference will be given to candidates with professional experience in exercise physiology, personal training, sport and exercise performance, as well as laboratory and field-based assessment techniques. Qualified candidates with evidence of research grant funding and publication are encouraged to apply. Workload: Full time faculty position to teach classes as assigned, advise students on academic and career plan. Compensation: $68,640 to $125,460 is the annual salary for this role and reflects what Azusa Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to compensation, APU offers a competitive benefits package.
