Medtronic Quality Inspector II

Medtronic Warsaw, in Warsaw, IN, is Medtronic's center of excellence for metals manufacturing focusing on high mix/low volume orthopedic and CST production. The Inspector II is a seasoned quality professional with extensive experience in quality assurance and operations. The role will be directly involved with Receiving Inspection, In Process Inspection, and Final Inspection. This role involves collaborating closely with supplier/manufacturing quality engineering and quality inspection associates. The Inspector II is responsible for inspecting implants/instruments and raw material to ensure compliance with mechanical specifications, making accept or reject determinations based on inspection outcomes. This includes working with metal and plastic products. The position requires proficiency in utilizing precision measurement tools such as micrometers, indicators, automated inspection equipment, gauge pins, and thread gauges. Additionally, the Inspector II may be tasked with sorting nonconforming materials as needed. This opening is for a 2nd shift production schedule M-F, 3pm-11pm. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned: Uses predetermined methods, operations, setups and prescribed specifications to inspect visually in-process and completed products such as electronic units and subsystems, precision electromechanical assemblies or mechanical units, subassemblies, structural flaws, internal defects, and missing welds. Uses various measuring devices and testing equipment. Accepts, rejects, or reworks defective or malfunctioning units or systems. Works from blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer specifications, drawing or inspection instructions and checklists. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Performs line clearances after each lot to ensure all materials from the previous lot have been removed. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with nonconformance processes (NCMR or PRB)
Familiarity with nonconformance procedures. Knowledge of product containment techniques
Understanding various containment methods and technologies in the manufacturing process. Problem-solving skills
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills for process or product failures. Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement experience
Exposure to methodologies like Six Sigma or Kaizen to drive process improvements. Experience with automated inspection equipment
Knowledge of automation systems used in production. Familiarity with quality standards and regulatory requirements
Understanding of ISO standards, FDA regulations, or other relevant industry quality standards. Systems knowledge: SAP, Agile, Infinity QS, Microsoft Office products especially Excel and Word. Knowledgeable in Good Manufacturing practices and SOPs Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Problem solving skills Experience with measuring and testing devices including calipers, microscopes, and calibrated eye pieces. Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires minimum of 2 years of experience. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
