Neurosurgery Physician Assistant Opportunity
Exciting opportunity to join a growing neurosurgery practice. The PA will practice along the continuum of care to support patients with brain and spinal cord pathology in the OR, hospital, and clinic. Under the direction of the collaborating physician, the PA provides neurosurgical care to patients. Obtains detailed history and performs physical examinations, orders imaging, lab tests and diagnostic procedures and interprets results. Instructs patients on the prescribed therapeutic regimen and pre/post operative instructions. Maintains records and writes progress notes on status, treatments and procedures. Follows patients through their course of treatment in the clinic and hospital setting. Collaborates with physicians and the health care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies as appropriate. Demonstrates evidence-based practice. Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of standards of practice in the specialty. Assesses the learning needs of patients and families across the continuum. Employs strategies, interventions and teaching to promote, maintain, and improve health. Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of service line goals. Supports the strategic plan of the organization. Adheres to all Endeavor Health policies and procedures. Position highlights: Position: Neurosurgery Physician Assistant (this is a surgical role). Location: Elmhurst, IL. Full time. Hours: Monday-Friday, rotating weekends and holidays, hours and OR times to be determined. Hourly pay range $57.69-$75.77. surgical first assist certification required. Minimum one year of experience in a surgical specialty required. Current IL license.
