Audio/Video Systems Support Specialist
Provide comprehensive support and service to faculty, staff, and students in the operation and support of audio/video systems, media control systems, and instructional technology. Oversee maintenance and operation of audiovisual equipment used in classrooms, conference rooms, and training rooms including sound, video, projection, and related equipment. Provide technical support and training on a variety of technology needs including hand-held devices, wireless technologies, fixed and mobile computing equipment. Essential Functions
30% Provide coordination and support for the technology, software, and services used in support of classrooms including the response to issues and requests for support. Install, operate, configure, and troubleshoot a variety of classroom technology including computers, projectors, control systems, networking equipment, various hand tools, audio and video equipment, panels, and routing systems. 25% Monitors the delivery and performance of classroom technology. Conducts regular reviews and maintenance of classroom technology expediting repairs and the order and replacement of defective hardware as well as the return of technology under warranty. 20% Serves as line of support for issues related to classroom technology. Provides support for special projects or events leveraging classroom technology as necessary. 15% Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies related to classroom technology. Leverages this knowledge to provide recommendations for improvements. 10% Support and conduct training as requested in the use of audio-visual and multimedia technology including integrated equipment. Maintains and provides documentation for the use of the classroom technology. Required Qualifications
Education: Requires some college courses or high school diploma and training in related field. Licenses/Certifications/Requirements: None. Experience: Requires a minimum of 2 years of experience and/or training in a computer-related field that would include hardware, software, and network troubleshooting. Knowledge of the principles of care and maintenance of audio-visual technology, current computer technology, good problem-solving skills, and good communications both written and oral required. Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technology, perform various troubleshooting and project management functions required. Leadership: Responsible for directing and monitoring the work of student and/or temporary workers. Physical Requirements: Job is physically comfortable; individual is normally seated and has discretion about walking, standing, etc. May occasionally lift very lightweight objects. Working Conditions: No major sources of working conditions discomfort, standard working environment with possible minor inconveniences due to occasional noise, crowded working conditions, minor heating/cooling or ventilation problems, and/or up to 40% use of PC terminal.
