This is a full-time direct hire position and you must currently have an active Secret Security Clearance or above. The Technical Architect is responsible for designing and overseeing the development and implementation of complex, secure communication systems in tactical environments. In addition, the Technical Architect will be responsible for nationwide maintenance, repair, and operations support for program equipment and networks across the organization. This role ensures the availability of necessary OEM maintenance equipment for technical upgrades and preventative maintenance at all program sites. The Technical Architect provides dedicated support to promptly address technical inquiries from enterprise system users. Additionally, the position involves coordinating personnel deployment for field operations and radio programming, managing firmware and software updates, and supervising IT Systems Engineers at core system sites. This includes ensuring engineers have the necessary tools and training for implementing OEM updates, patches, and configuration files. Maintaining proficiency in future software releases is crucial to support plans for upgrading core equipment, while also overseeing regional operations to provide comprehensive maintenance and operations support. Responsibilities: System Design and Architecture: Leads the definition and documentation of the architecture for P25-compliant radio systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and alignment with user needs and government regulations. Evaluates and selects appropriate technologies and solutions for P25 systems, considering factors like performance, interoperability, and cost-effectiveness. Possess in-depth knowledge of Project 25 (P25) standards, trunked radio systems, simulcast, and interoperability frameworks. Understand the intricacies of P25 network management, including network maintenance, optimization, major event preparedness, and network security. System Implementation and Maintenance: Oversees the installation, configuration, testing, and deployment of P25 hardware and software components, including repeaters, consoles, and subscriber units. Ensures the continuous operation and maintenance of P25 systems, including troubleshooting, upgrades, and ordering necessary resources. Compliance and Standards: Ensures the P25 radio systems comply with Project 25 standards and government regulations regarding installation, operation, and licensing. May participate in the P25 Compliance Assessment Program (CAP) to ensure equipment meets interoperability requirements. Technical Leadership and Mentorship: Provides technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and technicians on P25 systems and best practices. Collaborates with stakeholders, including public safety agencies and other technical teams, to gather requirements, communicate technical details, and resolve issues. Documentation and Reporting: Maintains detailed records of system configurations, programming templates, and inventory of radio assets. Prepares technical reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with a Master's degree preferred Experience in federal law enforcement or similar environments preferred Certifications in project management or relevant technologies preferred Proven experience in project management, systems integration, and application development. Strong understanding of radio and communications systems. Familiarity with Federal enterprise policies and standards. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience in tactical communications P25 integration, installation, operations, and maintenance. Must possess a SECRET clearance. 12+ years experience in tactical communication integration, testing, programming, troubleshooting, and design. Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $126,000.00 to $162,000.00 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base pay. The well-being of WWT employees is essential.
