On-Call Meals On Wheels Driver
The On-Call Meals On Wheels Driver is responsible for delivering hot ready-to-eat meals to homebound seniors and local senior centers in the MAG service area. We are looking for people to cover both Utah County and Summit County delivery areas. The hourly wage for this position is dependent on the assigned area, and starts at $17.86/hour. The work hours for this position are generally 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, depending on the delivery route assigned and business needs. Flexibility is needed as this position is specifically for back-up, not regular coverage. Shifts may need to be assigned as late as the morning of the shift, depending on delivery route coverage needs. Weekly hours can vary between 0 and 25. This position will be open until filled. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis, with first interviews taking place in July 2025. If selected for the position, applicants will be required to consent to background screening and drug testing. Drive MAGs Meals on Wheels truck to deliver hot meals to senior centers, volunteer drop sites and individual residences on a predetermined route in the MAG service area. Load delivery vehicle with hot meals and other items for delivery. Maintain records and make reports related to job responsibilities. Work cooperatively with the meal delivery team and Meals on Wheels office staff. Keep assigned vehicles clean and orderly, and report required preventative maintenance needs. Must abide by all laws pertaining to the operation of delivery vehicles. Operate vehicles in a defensive and safe manner at all times, abiding by all state, county and local traffic laws. Maintains valid drivers license and clean driving record. Must consent to monthly reviewing of Utah Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) driving record. Other duties as assigned. Work both independently and cooperatively as part of a team. Drive a Ford F150 truck with a box unit on the back with limited visibility. Excellent communication skills. Experience working with senior clientele. Possess knowledge and ability in locating residential & commercial addresses. Ability to walk distances between delivery vehicle and drop off locations. Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs. High School Graduation, or equivalent. One year of work experience demonstrating job-related skills. Must have, or be able to obtain, Utah County Food Handlers Permit.
