The Department of Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics at Syracuse University is seeking part-time instructor(s) to teach four credit sections of French 101-202 in the fall 2025 semester, which begins on August 25, 2025 (appointment begins on August 18, 2025). Offer is contingent upon sufficient enrollment. Course Descriptions: French 101 - French I (4 credits): Introductory proficiency-based course which prepares students to understand, speak, read, and write in culturally authentic contexts. Activities are conducted in French. French 102 - French II (4 credits): Continuing proficiency-based course which develops communicative abilities in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in culturally authentic contexts. Activities are conducted in French. French 201 - French III (4 credits): Continuing proficiency-based course which refines and expands previously acquired linguistics skills in culturally authentic contexts. Activities are conducted in French. French 202 - French IV (4 credits): Continuing proficiency-based course which focuses on reading, discussing, and analyzing authentic contexts as a basis for the expression and interpretation of meaning. Activities are conducted in French. The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined based on their per credit rate history within the hiring department.
