Weather Producer Intern

AccuWeather is seeking a creative and driven Weather Producer Intern to join our team part-time (20 hrs per week). In this role, you will collaborate with experienced meteorologists, producers, and content creators to enhance weather storytelling across multiple platforms. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the intersection of science, media, and technology, helping deliver weather-driven content that informs, engages, and protects. This position requires the candidate to work out of our AccuWeather headquarters located in State College, PA. Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with Weather Graphics Operation Specialists, On-Air Broadcasters, Meteorologists, and Producers to develop weather graphics, infographics, and other content to enhance storytelling. Monitor current and evolving meteorological conditions and contribute weather story ideas during editorial planning. Support the integration and prioritization of weather stories within assigned shows or dayparts. Create or commission visual elements to support coverage using platforms like Baron. Explore content sources, including social media, to uncover emerging weather stories and audience-relevant topics. Assist in ensuring storytelling consistency across teams and platforms. Support the production team during significant or breaking weather events, ensuring timely and accurate visual and verbal coverage. Uphold AccuWeather's editorial standards and contribute to a high-integrity storytelling environment. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualification

Actively enrolled in a degree program (B.A. or B.S.) in Meteorology, Journalism, Communications, or a related field from an accredited institution. Demonstrated interest in weather communication and visual storytelling. Previous experience with graphic design software (such as Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) is a plus. Entrepreneurial spirit and creative problem-solving abilities. Strong teamwork skills and a collaborative mindset. Excellent verbal, written, and time management skills. Working knowledge of Windows or Mac OS environments. Commitment to reliability and punctuality; regular and predictable attendance is required.
