Junior Network Engineer (Travel)
We are seeking a Junior Network Engineer (Travel) to join our team supporting the FBI's Information Technology Infrastructure Division. Responsibilities include assisting the Intermediate Network Engineer and on-site government personnel in responding to and managing tickets, alerts, or communications in the Network Operations Center. Tasks also include installing, maintaining, and evaluating network systems and communications, performing technical refresh of routers, switches, and firewall devices, and deploying device configurations and verifying operability. Required qualifications include an active Top-Secret security clearance, 1-3 years of relevant IT experience with specialization in networking technologies, specifically with Cisco switches and routers, and resolving LAN/WAN issues. Basic knowledge of IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, Stateful firewalls, and encryption technologies is also required. Working knowledge of network management tools, web applications, web servers, application load balancers, and storage systems is necessary. Candidates must also be capable of making travel arrangements. Desired qualifications include an Associates of Science degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related area, and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Enterprise Core and Infrastructure certification. The work environment is office-based with 50% travel within the US. The physical demands include handling, reaching, talking, hearing, standing, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. U.S. citizenship and Top-Secret security clearance are required.
