Assistant Vice President, Technology And Business

The Division of Advancement and Alumni Engagement utilizes resources, technology, and business for the purpose of constituent engagement, donor research and solicitation, and stewardship throughout Emory University and Health Systems. We are currently seeking an Assistant Vice President, Technology and Business. The Advancement and Alumni Engagement department of Technology and Business support various operating systems and platforms to apply advanced business analysis concepts to resolve highly complex operational issues and meet the philanthropic objectives of Emory University. Teams in this area will deliver dashboards, add KPIs, provide analytics, data mining and data modeling to the advancement community and integrate new data sources. This position will report to the Senior Associate Vice President. Key Responsibilities: Develops and implements strategies & tactics that leverage technology to advance philanthropy utilizing constituent relationship management (CRM) systems, analytics and Business Intelligence (BI) functionality, marketing automation systems, web-based platforms & digital direct response, augmented / virtual reality, machine learning and big data. Leads teams that establishes and implements the strategic BI functions. Leads, creates, and implements the design of informatics architecture, systems design, dashboards, analytics, data mining and modeling. Oversees division's digital fundraising technology, systems and analytics functions. Facilitates partnerships with other departments within the division and University for digital communications strategies and tools, providing technical and analytical expertise and insight for online acquisition, engagement and solicitation strategies and audience journeys. Creates strategic planning processes for analytics and identifies opportunities for leveraging fundraising data to drive business solutions. Provides guidance and solutions on predictive analytics and data modeling, while assessing existing dashboards and reporting efforts and guiding the department to focus on a common set of KPIs. Ensures compliance requirements are met for HIPAA, FERPA, and PCI. Participates in the advancement strategic planning process, assists in policy making for department-wide initiatives, and may represent the division at university functions. Develops and manages budgets. Some travel is required. Performs related responsibilities as required. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and ten years of experience in information technology, systems support, or related field with team leadership and staff management experience. Preferred Qualifications: Successful candidates will possess extensive experience managing projects, budgets, and financial reports, working with various technologies including advanced knowledge and experience with mass email applications, project management software, and CRM systems. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills with attention to detail, the ability to work with ambiguity, and navigate a complex work environment. Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills and possess the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience leading teams, working independently as well as collaboratively to achieve goals, with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Commitment to delivering excellent customer service, the ability to work collaboratively. Possess a high level of professionalism and commitment to confidentiality with sound judgment and discretion. Prior experience in advancement, fundraising, alumni engagement, non-profit, or a university setting. Flexibility to accommodate changing priorities and deadlines. Note: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
