Amynta operates through three segments: Managing General Agencies; Warranty, including automotive, consumer and specialty equipment; and Specialty Risk Services. We are seeking a Director of Finance to join our finance team in New York City. This role will be a key leader for one of our largest Managing General Agencies - Ambridge. This role will report to the CEO of Ambridge and will work closely with the Amynta CFO and finance team. Ambridge writes a wide variety of transactional, specialty casualty, management and professional liability, cyber and reinsurance risks. Since its founding over 20 years ago, the focus has consistently remained on providing responsive underwriting solutions for a wide variety of specialty insurance and reinsurance exposures. Ambridge is a team of 150+ global underwriting, legal, financial, and tax professionals. They have significant experience and expertise in all products offered and understand that brokers and insureds select Ambridge because it is known for being reliable and delivering on its promises. Working closely with clients, the experienced team is committed to providing a responsive underwriting process that provides certainty and is both cost effective and efficient. The mission of Ambridge is to provide customized solutions that are designed to insure a wide variety of risks and exposures. Ambridge guiding principles are: To provide "out of the box" responsive underwriting solutions to our clients To focus on providing solutions rather than on "the process" To deliver our product within the time frame required by the client to meet their specific deal requirements To offer products issued by highly-rated insurers To execute on what we have promised to deliver Key duties of role: Oversee accounting, financial planning, and finance operations departments of a large Managing General Agency Manage the financial strategic planning by evaluating performance and potential risks Partner with leadership and others in management to execute financial strategies Perform regular financial analyses and prepare detailed reports Coordinate internal and external financial reporting including KPI's Develop budgets for agency departments that enable them to meet their goals while staying financially disciplined Oversee cash management and coordinate with Corporate Treasurer Establish targets and manage all accounting and finance stakeholders Establish and maintain effective internal controls and risk-management protocols Oversee any integration, special projects and ad-hoc requests Assess needs to make finance organization more efficient Provide information to external auditors for annual audit as required Qualifications: A track record of being able to drive organizational change both within the finance area and throughout the organization Strategic thinker, problem solver and excellent communicator with the ability to execute short and long term finance strategies with a metric and goal-driven approach Possess excellent business acumen, strong analytical skills, along with the expertise to navigate and achieve the organization's financial goals Experience across a broad range of financial disciplines and be a forward thinker and progressive leader Extensive knowledge and experience in managing both strategic and tactical activities within finance Experience managing internal and external business partners At least 10+ years of progressive accountancy or finance experience within the insurance industry with leadership experience BA degree or equivalent Advanced degree, CPA, or CFA preferred Preferred skills: Highly motivated and results-oriented Strong organizational skills Leadership skills including business collaboration, people skills, thought leadership, and managerial skills Strong oral and written communication skills Strong analytical skills Proven ability to engage with a broad range of stakeholders Amynta Group offers the following: Hybrid work environment Variety of benefits including: Medical Dental Vision Savings Account Options Disability Life Insurance 401(k) match 50% of the first 7% once eligible 27 days vacation not inclusive of holidays, with the ability to increase over time.
