We're seeking a highly skilled Director of Hardware Engineering with prior experience in developing high-frequency (13.56 MHz) and Bluetooth-enabled access control readers. You will play a key role in the development of reader products and supporting technologies for the commercial and multifamily access control markets. This role involves leading a team of engineers responsible for mechanical design, schematics, PCB layout, and firmware development based on product requirements. Your attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities will be critical to your success. You will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer. Core Duties

Oversee electrical and mechanical designs, ensuring they meet performance, reliability, and cost targets Manage compliance and certification efforts (e.g., FCC, UL, etc) Stay current with emerging technologies to enhance product performance and cost-efficiency Drive failure analysis, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives Provide mentorship and growth opportunities for engineering staff Participate in technical reviews by the Chief Technology Officer and executive leadership Qualifications

Deep understanding of mechanical and electrical requirements for industry-leading access control hardware Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, written and verbal Experience with Agile development methodologies Proven experience managing the lifecycle of complex hardware products Experience working with contract manufacturers and supply chain partners Beneficial Skills

Knowledge of power and thermal issues associated with high-density PCBs Knowledge of wireless key technologies, particularly for mobile devices Understanding of requirements needed to produce FCC and UL compliant products Experience And Education

Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, a related field or equivalent experience 15+ years computer engineering or electrical engineering industry experience 10+ years experience leading teams Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk (standing desks available) Working in an office environment using typical office equipment Ability to lift up to 30 lbs Travel Requirement

Traveling less than 10% of the time. Work Location
