Responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care under the direction of an RN or LPN. Assists residents with activities of daily living, provides personal care, comfort, and support. Maintains a safe and clean environment for all residents. 10:00pm - 6:00am with weekend and holiday rotation Pay based on experience starting at $17.79 per hour Accompanies residents to appointments, meals, and social activities. Assists in Activities of Daily Living (eating, dressing, bathing, toileting, ambulating, repositioning, etc.) Assists in the admission, transfer, and discharge procedures including preparing room, completing inventory checklist, taking vital signs and weight, and completing CNA portion of education checklist. Documents and reports resident's condition, complaints of pain, changes in patient status, refusals of care, adverse reactions, behaviors, etc. Lifts and turns with proper and safe body mechanics and with available resources. Follows transfers orders regarding number of assistance and how to be transferred (gait belt, sit to stand, or full body lift). Maintains a safe, clean environment for residents including changing bed linen, straightening room, cleaning overbed table and bedside table, taking out trash, etc. Maintains a safe and clean environment for all by cleaning of equipment, soiled utility room, supply room, and kitchenette. Maintains dirty linen carts and keeps soiled linen emptied to help eliminate odors. Performs daily chores as assigned. Maintains Oxygen: concentrators and tanks. Notifying unit secretary or cardiopulmonary when in need of new tank. Makes rounds with off going shift and with oncoming shift to ensure the unit is left in good condition. Meets resident's nutritional needs by: tray set up, assisting resident in eating, providing bedtime snacks, giving fluids that are provided. Frequently offers fluids. Performs/assists with daily hygiene to include but not limited to: bathing, hands/face washing, hair care, shaving, oral hygiene, peri care, foley care, nail care, grooming, glasses, dentures, and hearing aides. Provides skin care, prevents skin breakdowns, turns and repositions every 2 hours or more often, and uses skin creams routinely. Responds to residents' call light and other indicators for assistance promptly and courteously and follows through to meet residents' needs. Takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, blood pressure, and intake/output. Collects urine and stool specimens and takes to the laboratory.
