Buyer-Commodity Professional
Saab, Inc. is hiring a Buyer-Commodity Professional as we expand our team to support multiple business areas across North America. This role will make an impact as a critical contributor to defense, security, and manufacturing programs by continuously improving Saab, Inc's supplier base including, but not limited to, the following: Negotiate price, delivery and terms and conditions of purchased items. Understand and apply contractual Terms and Conditions. Read and understand drawings Request, obtain and evaluate quotes Coordinate RMA (Return Material Authorization) with suppliers Manage the supplier onboarding process and paperwork Coordinate resolution of invoice discrepancies Effectively communicate with internal and/or external customers Effectively use appropriate tools and computer skills Effectively use problem solving skills and analytical thinking Identify and qualify potential suppliers Analyze cost/price factors for pre-award and post-award actions for purchases Understanding of the FAR and DFAR flow downs Ability to productively work within a best practices approach in order to drive supply chain processes improvements. Compensation Range: $63,000-$78,700 The compensation range provided is a general guideline. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a business-related discipline (B.S. in Supply Chain Management preferred) 2+ years related experience Required Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint). Excellent written and verbal communication skills Possess understanding of Government contracting (to include FAR/DFAR) and key business processes Attention to detail, strong organizational, communication and negotiation skills necessary in a team environment Ability to understand Procurement / Supply Chain and Material Requirement Planning Preparation and administration of routine correspondence and purchasing related documentation Collaborate cross functionally with business areas such as Manufacturing, Material Handling and Finance to close out open purchase orders Collaborate and coordinate with suppliers to obtain product or service information, such as price, product availability, and delivery schedule updates (expedites and / or facilitates the delivery of goods to users) Communicate with internal and external customers as applicable Prepare, organize and maintain purchasing records and files documenting purchasing performance and compliance Domestic or global expertise of assigned commodities Work comfortably in a team environment, multi-task, be self-motivated and support concurrent requirements for different internal and external customers. Ability to obtain security clearance Desired Experience: Knowledge/experience with Department of Defense (DoD) procurements and contracts Prior work experience in Procurement or Supply Chain-related field Citizenship Requirements: Must be a U.S. citizen Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
