Mechanical Engineer (Warehouse Inventory Project) Location:
Onsite - Irvine, CA Status:
2-Month Contract Compensation:
$35-$40/hour (DOE) Position Summary We are seeking a
mechanically inclined engineer or technician
to assist with an equipment and parts inventory project across two facilities. This individual will work hands-on in a warehouse environment, identifying mechanical equipment and components, cataloging all items, and creating an organized inventory system for future use. Responsibilities Physically inspect and
identify mechanical equipment, spare parts, consumables, and assets
within two facilities. Map and document all inventory locations, including warehouse, aisle, bay, rack, and bin assignments. Create a comprehensive CSV file
with item details for upload into the IRWD inventory management system. Apply
barcode or QR code labels
to all inventoried items. Collaborate with a small team to ensure efficient and accurate inventory completion. Work safely within an industrial warehouse environment, following proper procedures and handling mechanical components appropriately. Qualifications
Mechanical background
required (ability to identify industrial equipment, parts, and consumables). Previous experience in
warehouse operations, inventory management, or picking/stocking
in an industrial or manufacturing setting preferred. Proficient with basic
data entry, spreadsheets, and CSV file creation . Comfortable working hands-on in a physical warehouse environment. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently or with a small team.
