Senior Manager, Engineering (Private Credit Servicing)

Provide strong leadership and guidance to the engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high performance. Collaborate closely with product management and other stakeholders to define project requirements, scope, and schedules. Plan and prioritize engineering projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery within allocated resources and timelines. Monitor project progress, identify and address risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies as needed. Drive technical excellence and innovation within the engineering team, encouraging creativity and continuous learning. Encourage the adoption of modern engineering practices, tools, and methodologies to improve efficiency, quality, and scalability. Promote a strong focus on quality assurance, testing, and security throughout the engineering lifecycle. Hybrid work permitted up to 3 days per week within reasonable commuting distance of the Indianapolis, Indiana Office. 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday SMB IT, Inc., 8425 Woodfield Crossing Blvd. Floor 5th East, Indianapolis, IN 46240 Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field of study and five (5) years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related role where required experience gained. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of stated experience, employer will accept a Master's degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field of study and three (3) years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related role where required experience gained. Also requires three (3) years of experience in the following: Software development, system design, or related technical experience. Software development methodologies, tools, and best practices. Programming skills in languages such as Java, C++, Python, or similar languages. Experience with web development frameworks (e.g., Angular, React, or Vue.js) and databases (e.g., SQL, MySQL, or PostgreSQL). Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) and experience with cloud services. Project management. Send resume to HR_TA@salliemae.com and reference job title and location.
